What is the “Pilates Body”?

“Contrology is the complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit. Through Contrology you first purposefully acquire complete control of your own body and then through proper repetition of its exercises you gradually and progressively acquire the natural rhythm and coordination associated with all your subconscious activities.”~ Joseph Pilates

The “Pilates body” is easily recognized as one that has erect (neutral) posture, long dense musculature, and an effortless, economical, fluid way of moving.
In getting to know someone who possesses the Pilates body you may notice that they have also developed above average patience and focused attention, and at rest will appear to be free of excess tension.

There are five areas of development in acquiring the Pilates body.
Alignment
Long dense musculature
Fluid movement
Breath control
Focused concentration

$55 per Semi-private Pilates Lesson
